It has been long speculated that Xiaomi’s subsidiary Redmi will launch a flagship smartphone. This device has been revealed to be called the K20 and will be the first flagship offering by the company since it separated from its parent company back in the month of January. Redmi has been dropping hints and teasing the handset left and right, in addition to which the previous leaks of the K20 have revealed almost every key detail about it. Here is what to expect from the upcoming flagship smartphone from Redmi.

As mentioned above, the Redmi K20 will be the first flagship offering by the company. It has gone all out in promoting the smartphone on the Chinese social networking website Weibo. To maintain the hype regarding it, the retail packaging and official case of the K20 has been showcased.

Previous leaks reveal the device will have a 6.39 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 px. The front of the device will be protected using the Corning Gorilla Glass 6 which should make it resistant to scratches and drops from a considerable height. To maximise the screen real estate, a pop-up mechanism to house the front-facing camera is expected. In terms of optics, images of the case exhibit a vertical camera setup. Redmi 7A Budget Smartphone Leaked On TENAA, Launch Imminent

Xiaomi’s subsidiary Redmi launched its latest smartphones, the Redmi 7 and Redmi Y3 back in the month of April. Both devices cater to the budget smartphone market in India and have been received well with the audience. Now, fresh leaks have surfaced revealing another budget handset from the company is in the works. The smartphone, alleged to be the Redmi 7A has been leaked on Chinese certification TENAA’s website. The listing exposes the design of the upcoming device.

Redmi 7A

The Redmi 7A, as mentioned above, will be a budget offering from the company. It will succeed the Redmi 6A smartphone which was introduced last year. The listing on TENNA unveils what the upcoming device will look like. From the images, it is comprehended the handset may feature a polycarbonate design. Its front is dominated by a display, the size of which is unknown at the moment. Unlike the latest devices by Redmi, the 7A doesn’t sport a waterdrop on top. It instead has considerable bezels on all sides with a company branding at the chin. The front camera, along with the earpiece and other sensors, presumably the light and proximity sensors will be housed on the top bezel.

Samsung Galaxy M40 With Punch Hole Display To Launch In India In June

Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy M lineup of smartphones in India which are sold exclusively via online channels. The devices in the lineup are packed with worthy features and carry a lucrative price tag. Accrediting to which, they have been warmly welcomed by the Indian consumers. The current lineup of Galaxy M smartphones includes the Galaxy M10, the Galaxy M20 and the Galaxy M30. Previously, Samsung was reported to add a more premium device in the lineup which will carry the Galaxy M40 moniker. American semiconductor giant AMD is expected to launch the new generation of its Ryzen desktop processors; at the Computex show scheduled in a few weeks. The event is one of the largest computer and technology trade shows in the world. While details about the next generation of Ryzen CPU were shrouded in mystery, fresh reports citing information about the processors have been shared on microblogging website Twitter.

The AMD Ryzen 3000 as mentioned above, will represent the next generation of CPUs for desktops. In a tweet, a tipster revealed the processors will have up to 16 cores and will have a base clock speed of 3.3GHz. In terms of overclocking, it can be clocked up to a maximum speed of 4.2Ghz according to the leak but considering the past few iterations; AMD might provide the option of taking it even further. Furthermore, the leak reveals the chipset was tested on a motherboard based on the soon to be released MSI X570 platform controller. MSI has been teasing the support for the new Ryzen processors in its motherboard for a while now.

Another leak, shared by the author of the DRAM Calculator for Ryzen processors on Twitter; showcases another important detail about the Ryzen 3000 CPU. According to him, the upcoming chipset will support a whopping 5000 MHz DDR4 Memory Speeds. All the known details so far about the Ryzen 3000 hint that it will be manufactured using a 7nm process; and will be based on the company’s latest Zen2 architecture. It is a refresh of the Zen+ and Zen architecture that AMD had been using for a while. All the aforementioned changes to the Ryzen lineup insinuates it will be a worthwhile upgrade over its predecessor; and may lead to AMD gaining an advantage over its rival Intel for a while.

Oppo’s subsidiary Realme is set to launch it latest mid range smartphone, the Realme X which will be unveiled on the 15th of May in China. Days before the official announcement, the live images and the official teaser of the smartphone have been leaked on Twitter which reveals its design and key features.

For starters, the Realme X has a refreshing design with a gradient coloured back that harbours the dual camera setup and company branding. Like the previously launched Realme 3 Pro, the top most camera in the arrangement has a Golden ring around it which provides the smartphone with a distinctive look.

Moving forward to the front, the Realme X accommodates a large screen display with negligible bezels on all sides except for the bottom chin which is comparatively thicker. It also features an in-display fingerprint scanner which is slowly becoming the industry standard for both midrange and premium smartphones. Noteworthy, it also has a motorised pop up style selfie camera which helps the device to offer a high screen to body ratio. The teaser does not exhibit any specifications of the upcoming device but they can be derived from past leaks and previously discovered Geekbench listing.

The Realme X sports a 6.5 inch AMOLED display that has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 px. The smartphone measures 161.2×76×9.4 mm and tips the scale at 191 grams. Under the hood, it is kitted with the Snapdragon 710 SoC which is also present on the Realme 3 Pro. The Realme X is powered by a 3680 mAh battery and it runs on the latest Android 9 Pie which will be skinned with ColorOS. Asus ZenFone 6Z With Dual Slider Leaks In Video

Asus is set to launch its latest flagship grade smartphone, the ZenFone 6 on the 16th of May. Previously, the Geekbench score and the teaser of the upcoming handset were spotted online. Days before the official announcement, a video of the alleged smartphone has been shared by a Spanish Youtuber. It exhibits a unique looking smartphone with a slider design. Noteworthy, the slider on the smartphone slides both upwards and downwards which is dissimilar to other slider incorporating smartphones like the Mi Mix 3 and the Honor Magic 2.

ZenFone 6 Official Teaser

Upon close inspection, it was discovered that the smartphone in the video shared by the Youtuber is unlikely to be ZenFone 6. As the official teaser shared by the company declared the smartphone has a bottom mounted 3.5 mm audio jack which the device in the said video misses out on. Apparently, the handset in the video is made by Asus and instead this could be the beefed up variant of the flagship handset which might be called the Asus ZenFone 6Z.

ZenFone 6z Design

Now that it is clear that the device in video is not the ZenFone 6 and rather could be the ZenFone 6Z. Let’s talk about its design!

The alleged ZenFone 6Z has slider design with a large screen display on the front that has a considerably high screen-to-body ratio. The rear of the smartphone seems to be made out of glass which has a high gloss finish. Its rear panel harbours the Asus branding, fingerprint sensor and the dual camera set up along with an LED flash. The bottom of the device is occupied by a USB C port which is flanked by two narrow slits which may be the cutout for the loudspeaker and the microphone.

All in all, the smartphone looks unique and distinguished than the bunch. However, we will have to wait until the 16th of May that is when the company will lift off the curtain from the ZenFone 6 lineup.

California based, Apple is expected to launch its latest smartphones in the month of September this year. Motorola is expected to launch its latest smartphone, dubbed the Motorola One Vision at an event in Brazil on the 15th of May. The device will succeed the Moto One Power launched last year and will be the next handset from the company to be a part of the Android One Program. A known tipster has revealed full details about the smartphone prior to its launch and also has shared the price the device will launch in Europe.

The Motorola One Vision will be the company’s latest mid-range offering. Leaked images of the smartphone reveal it will have an all-glass design at the back with a gradient pattern. The tipster claims it will measure 160.1 x 71.2 x 8.7mm and weigh 180g. It will have a 6.3-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2520 x 1080 px and an aspect ratio of 21:9 like seen in the Xperia 1. To maximise the screen real estate, a hole punch cutout reminiscent of the Honor View20 will be placed on the top left corner of the display. For biometrics and security, a fingerprint scanner housed in the Motorola batwing logo at the back is expected on the device.

Unfortunately, the leak does not mention the chipset used in the smartphone, but as the predecessor featured the Kirin 970 SoC; the Nova 5 may run on the flagship grade 7nm Kirin 980 mobile processor also seen on the Huawei P30 Pro.

The variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB onboard memory will cost CNY 3399 (Rs. 35,200). Top end variant of the device with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage will retail at CNY 3799 (Rs. 39,400). As mentioned above, Honor will launch the smartphones on the 21st of May in Europe. It is expected to make its way into the Indian market soon after the announcement.

Taiwanese smartphone maker, Asus is set to launch its latest flagship smartphone, the ZenFone 6. The device will succeed the ZenFone 5Z from the yesteryear. Asus previously shared a teaser on Twitter which reveals the front layout of the upcoming smartphone. Another Tweet shared by the company reveals the features of the ZenFone 6. This also reveals the chipset and layout of the ports and grilles. In addition, a company executive shared a Morse Code on Instagram with the battery capacity and camera resolution of the anticipated flagship.

The GM of Redmi purposely leaked information regarding the in-display fingerprint sensor present in the device. He posted a screenshot that clearly exhibited the location of the scanner beneath the display. Another leak formerly suggested that the upcoming Redmi flagship smartphone may feature a pop-up selfie camera, which will lead to a full-screen display.

The Redmi flagship devices are expected to run on the 7nm Snapdragon 855 chipset, which comprises of the octa-core Kryo 485 processor and the Adreno 640 GPU. It is also speculated that the devices will feature the 3.5mm headphone jack and NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. The Xiaomi sub-brand is likely to host a press event in China on May 13 2019, which can unveil some concrete developments regarding the two flagship smartphones.

Whether Redmi will launch these phones in other markets, including India, is presently unknown. The only question that would remain; which flagship phone to buy and from which Xiaomi brand; Mi, Redmi or Poco ?

Moto E6 Passes Through FCC, To Have A 3000 mAh Battery

Motorola is expected to launch the budget-oriented smartphone, dubbed the Moto E6 in the following weeks. Previous leaks have already revealed key details about the device, which is set to feature humble specifications at a lucrative price. Now, the handset has passed the Federal of Communications Certificate (FCC) certification. The listing on FCC’s official website mentions the smartphone’s code name as ‘surfna’, which corroborates with the previous leaks.

The upcoming Moto E6 will be a budget offering from the company. It will be the successor to the Moto E5 launched last year. The listing on FCC reveals the smartphone will have a 3000 mAh battery. Measurements of the device mentioned in the listing are 149mm x 71mm (Height x Width) and 178.36mm diagonally. It is also revealed the handset will have support for the 2.4 GHz and the 5GHz bands of Wi-Fi networks, which is a rarity in the budget segment.

While the FCC listing does not reveal specifications of the Moto E6, previous leaks have already provided the information. The device has been leaked to have a 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 px. The smartphone will have significant bezels on the top and the bottom of the display and will not have a physical fingerprint scanner. This insinuates it will rely on conventional unlock methods like a numerical pin, alphabetical passwords and patterns. The Moto E6 will run on the latest Android 9 Pie and will feature a stock interface with some customisations by Motorola.

The previous leaks further insinuate Moto E6 will be kitted with the 28nm Snapdragon 430 SoC. The chipset is comprised of an Octa-core Cortex A53 CPU and the Adreno 505 GPU. In terms of optics, the smartphone will have a single f/2.0 aperture equipped 13 MP rear camera. For selfies, an f/2.0 aperture equipped 5 MP sensor is expected to be housed on top of the display. For memory and storage, the device is expected to feature 2GB of RAM and up to 32GB of Internal Storage. Unfortunately, it is not known when the Moto E6 will be launched, but the FCC listing suggests it may be on its way soon.

Upcoming Redmi Flagship To Feature An In Display Fingerprint Scanner & Great Battery Life

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is headed towards the launch of its first ever flagship grade smartphone. The device has been densely surrounded in rumours and leaks, but the latest information revealed regarding the handset is not a leak at all. Rather, the General Manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing has confirmed a couple of new features that will make their way into the company’s upcoming smartphone, which include an in-display fingerprint scanner and an excellent battery life.

Redmi Flagship Device: All We Know So Far

As posted on the popular Chinese social website Weibo, the alleged Redmi K20 Pro will feature a fingerprint sensor that will be embedded beneath the display. The GM of Redmi posted a screenshot of the unlocking screen of the smartphone, which clearly depicts the spot where the supposed optical fingerprint scanner is located. Furthermore, Lu Weibing also commended the battery performance of the device, which he deemed to “exceed his expectations”. Although the battery capacity of the Redmi handset was not revealed, previous leaks suggest that it will be 4000 mAh with support for 27W fast charging.

The smartphone runs on the 7nm Snapdragon 855 SoC which comprises of the Kryo 485 Octa-core CPU and the Adreno 640 GPU. In terms of optics, it sports a triple camera module consists of a 48 MP sensor , a 20 MP sensor and a third unknown sensor, which may be a depth sensor. In terms of the front camera, the smartphone is expected to house the same in a pop-up camera mechanism. However, the specifications of the front camera are still unknown.

Former leaks have suggested that the Redmi device sports a 6.39 inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. Other details including the price, resolution of front-facing selfie camera and storage variants will be publicised once it officially launches. The company has not revealed any other information about the smartphone as of now, so an official statement is highly awaited. As per reports, the Chinese company is expected to make an announcement regarding the Redmi device on May 13 or May 20.
