Nokia launched its flagship smartphone, the Nokia 9 PureView on the 24th of February this year. The device boasts of being the world’s first with five rear cameras. It was anticipated that the company will launch the handset in India soon. While the company shared a teaser on its social media handles regarding the Indian launch back in the month of March, no further announcements were made. Now, the Nokia 9 PureView has passed the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) which suggests the smartphone may launch in India this month.

About The Certification

The Bureau of India Standards (BIS) has certified the Nokia 9 PureView with the model number TA-1087. BIS is a national standard body of India which is responsible for providing certification to certain products. It is often seen as a means for providing a third-party guarantee of quality and reliability of the products. While the BIS certification is voluntary in nature, the government of India has made it mandatory for certain products citing public health hazards
