Ever since the Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s firegate controversy, smartphones catching fire gets more attention than usual. A few months ago, we saw a video of a man biting his smartphone’s battery before getting a new one. The battery obviously exploded because it was punctured. This goes to show that batteries in smartphones can explode if damaged even slightly. In a new incident of an iPhone bursting into flames, there was no biting involved.
The CCTV footage appears to be of a repair shop, which means it is fair to assume that the iPhone was there for a repair. The incident took place in Las Vegas, USA and was recorded by a surveillance camera. The video shows a man [...]

In addition to the next iPhone, it is also possible that [...]
September is only a month away and it seems Apple has already started the preparations for the launch of the next iPhone. According to photos leaked on the French website nowhereelse (via AppleInsider), Apple has reportedly begun the production of the new iPhone.
If we go by the photographs, it seems the latest iPhone will be identical to the existing iPhone 6 lineup. The leak cannot confirm though, if the material used is sapphire or alkali-aluminosilicate glass like Gorilla Glass.

Apparently, according to WSJ, the tech giant has immense ambitions and has assigned the task of assembling 85-90 million handsets-complete with Force Touch- to its manufacturing partners. WSJ predicted that Apple’s sales growth approximates to 10% each year. The company ordered between 70 million and 80 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus units for launch in 2014.
So far, we’ve learnt that the next iPhones will include Force Touch and a new casing to make the iPhone 6S wider, taller and stronger. The new model [...]
With just around a month to go for the next iPhone launch, we have rounded up some specs and features that we may see with the next Apple device.
Force Touch and New Casing MaterialEarlier this year, Apple’s next-generation iPhone was announced to come with the ‘Force Touch’ feature, which made a debut appearance with the Apple Watch and the new 13-inch MacBook. The inclusion was widely expected, and a report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has confirmed its existence stating that the implementation of Force Touch on iPhone 6s might even add to the thickness of the device.
Given the fact that Apple does not include a microSD slot for expanding memory, a 16GB iPhone can get really cranked up with just a handful of games, apps and music. Apple also has issues regarding the iOS updates, which require an immense amount of free space to install. The company is even going to drastic measures to ensure that its entry-level devices can upgrade to newer versions of iOS by removing apps before installation to reclaim disk space, and then reinstalling them after the iOS update has ended.
But, with the upcoming iPhone 6S, 16GB models may soon become obsolete. We think that the next iPhone will not [...]
The Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus released last year in September. It barely seems any time has passed and we’re already hearing a steady flow of rumours about the next iPhone, temporarily dubbed as the iPhone 6s.
If we took a wild guess at what the smartphone might incorporate, we would include a long list of patents that Apple have issued to the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office). Going by the patents, Apple might have a three-sided wall display, a smart waterproof design and it might be flexible. Like we said, that would be our wild guess.
Coming back to [...]
This is good news for Apple fans everywhere. If rumours are to be believed, the upcoming iPhone 6s will be available in stores from 25th September this year, according to MobileNews. In an amusing chain of events, Vodafone began sending out “Save the Date” e-mails to its staff and accidentally leaked the release date of Apple’s next flagship.
Surprisingly, there was no name mentioned about the next iPhone; it was simply being referred to as the ‘new iPhone’. According to the source, pre-orders will start from 18th September and it will go live physically on 25th September.
Earlier this year, Apple’s next-generation iPhone was reported to come with the ‘Force Touch’ feature, which made a debut with the Apple Watch and the new 13-inch MacBook. The inclusion was widely expected and now, a new report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has affirmed its existence stating that the enforcement of Force Touch on iPhone 6s might even add to the thickness of the device.
Force Touch is a brainy touch feature which senses the level of force applied on the screen. It uses tiny electrodes around the flexible Retina display to distinguish between a light tap and a deep press, [...]
Post the launch of iPhone 6 and its bigger sibling, Apple fans have awaited the release of the improved iPhone 6s. The handset is speculated to bring major changes including an upgraded RAM, enhanced 12MP camera and the newly introduced Force Touch. Although the innards have been beefed up, the tech giant continues to push the envelope by making slimmer smartphones. Going by this approach, the upcoming addition to iPhone 6 series will be thinner than the previously launched iterations.
Now we hear that a battery breakthrough that failed to attain the much-deserved hype at the previous Apple Event will fuel the next [...]
