    The Upcoming Honor TV Will Have A Motorised Popup Camera

    After smartphones, Huawei’s subsidiary, Honor plans to enter the Smart TV market. The company claims that the upcoming television has numerous innovative features that will make it stand out of the crowd. Well, that is something only time will tell and will be influenced by several factors.

    Days before the official launch, Honor has shared a teaser of its highly anticipated television that will bring to the table, a segment-first feature. According to the teaser, the Honor TV will have a camera which will be placed inside a motorised module.

    The said feature is similar to what is found on modern smartphones including the newly launched Honor 9X and the Redmi K20 duo. Like a smartphone, the motorised pop-up selfie camera will allow minimising the thickness of the bezels around the display.

    Clearly, the camera will be used for making video calls via certain applications that the upcoming Honor TV will support. Additionally, it could be used to capture pictures or videos. Though it is yet to be confirmed, the camera can aid in playing certain applications like games that need to track the movement of the user. 

    Noteworthy, due to its retractable nature, the camera on the Honor TV won’t appear as a threat to one personal or working space. This is a huge factor while considering the fact that even laptops or computer webcams can be hijacked by hackers for ill purposes.

    Besides, the Honor TV is expected to run on HongMeng which is company’s homebrewed OS that it has been developing since 2012.

    Accordingly, it will also support a variety of on-demand video streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime or similar services that are offered in China. 

    Unfortunately, the teaser does not reveal any other aspects like the display size or processor of the upcoming Honor TV.

    Nonetheless, it is expected to launch on the 9th of August which marks the commencement of Huawei’s developer commencement.

    Xiaomi has been long awaited to launch the Mi A3 and the Mi A3 Lite which will succeed the Mi A2 and the Mi A2 Lite from last year. A freshly shared Tweet by a senior Xiaomi executive has confirmed the existence of the two smartphones. While the Tweet does not reveal any details of either device, past reports have claimed that the two handset will be the rebadged CC9 and CC9 Lite which were launched in China, earlier this month. Noteworthy, unlike the CC9 smartphones, the Mi A3 lineup will run on the stock version of Android operating system rather than MIUI.

    Under the hood, the Mi A3 and A3 Lite will pack the Snadragon 730 and Snapdragon 675 SoC. While, both the chipsets are comprised of an Octa Core CPU, the former packs the Adreno 615 GPU and the latter packs the Adreno 612 GPU. The standard A3 will sport a 6.39 inch display, on the other hand, the lite variant will sport a 6.08 inch display. Nevertheless, both handsets will reportedly feature Samsung made AMOLED displays which will also accomodate an indisplay fingerprint sensor.

    A past report claimed, the Mi A3 will sport a triple camera setup, details of which are unknown at the moment. It is also not known what optical setup the Lite variant features, but it is expected to be a dual lens arrangement.Both upcoming smartphones are expected to be priced in between the US $ 200 and US $ 300 price bracket which will make them a lucrative package.

    Speaking of its launch, OPPO will unveil the said smartphone with an invisible punch hole at MWC Shangai which is scheduled for 26th to 28th June. User’s who are shocked and want to question that MWC for the year has already been held in the month of February. China gets its very own MWC due to a massive number of OEMs and consumers based in the country.

    Other than the revolutionary display tech, no other details about the device have been revealed. Though the device is assumed to be a flagship handset which will be kitted with likewise specifications. In terms of SoC, it is safe to say that the upcoming handset is likely to have the Snapdragon 855 chipset.

    The original Asus ROG Phone has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor which was found on almost every 2018 flagship device.     Earlier this month, Motorola Mobility LLP sent out press invites for a launch event in India which is scheduled for the 20th of June. At the time the press invites were sent, it was a mystery what device the company will unveil in the country. However, the newly shared teaser on the company’s official Twitter account reveals it is none other than the Moto One Vision with a punch hole display. The said device was originally launched in the month of May in countries including Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Brazil.

    The Motorola One Vision has an elegant design accrediting to the 6.3 inch punch hole display that dominates its front. The display panel has a resolution of 2520 x 1080 px and a pixel density of 432 ppi. To protect the display against scratches, the Moto One Vision has Corning Gorilla glass protection (unspecified version). Intriguingly, it is kitted with the Exynos 9609 SoC which is manufactured and supplied by Samsung. This is the first time that a handset except for Samsung features an Exynos chipset. The SoC consists of the Mali G72 MP3 GPU and Octa Core CPU which is clocked at 2.2 GHz. In term of memory and storage, the smartphone is offered in a single variant that has 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of ROM. It also supports memory expansion upto 1 TB via the shared SIM slot.

     

    In terms of optics, the Moto One Vision has a dual rear camera setup which is comprised of an f/1.7 aperture equipped 48 MP sensor, a 5 MP depth sensor and a Dual LED flash. The smartphone also has 25 MP selfie camera which is present in the previously launched punch hole in the display. It is powered by a 3,500 mAh battery which supports fast charging upto 15 W. The device on the latest version of Android 9 Pie which is bundled with Android One certification. The certification assures guaranteed Android updates for at least two years. Connectivity options on the Moto One Vision include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and a bottom mounted USB Type C port. Like most modern premium smartphones, Motorola’s offering has also done away with the 3.5 mm audio jack. For safely and rapidly logging into to UI, it features a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is offered in two colour options which include Bronze gradient and Sapphire gradient.

There is a chance that the “Super” announcement is AI/Software related since NVIDIA RTX and 16-series cards are still fairly new to the market. And talking of competition, AMD’s Navi GPUs are also set to make a debut in the not-so-distant future, which might shift NVIDIA in its seat a little.

    Earlier this month Nokia launched its latest smartphone, the Nokia 4.2 in India which is a budget focussed offering. Fresh video teaser shared on the Nokia India’s Twitter account indicates that the company will soon launch another budget-oriented handset, the Nokia 3.2. The teaser boasts of a smartphone with long battery backup which is accompanied by the #ViewMoreDoMore caption. Even though the teaser does not overtly talk about the aforementioned smartphone, the said caption corroborates with the Nokia 3.2 which was unveiled at MWC 2019.

    The Nokia 3.2 has a modern design with a high screen to body ratio display on the front which features a waterdrop notch up top. The international variant was unveiled in two storage variants which include 2 GB + 16 GB and 3 GB + 32 GB. But we will have to wait for the official announcement to establish what storage variants will be offered in India. In addition to the inbuilt storage, it also supports memory expansion upto 400 GB via a microSD card.

    The Nokia 3.2 is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery and supports 10 W fast charging. It runs on the latest Android 9 Pie stock OS which provides for a bloatware free experience. Connectivity options on the device include Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 4G VoLTE, 3.5 mm audio jack and bottom mounted Micro USB 2.0 port. The rear camera of the Nokia 3.2 has a 13 MP sensor while the front selfie camera has a resolution of 5 MP.

    Furthermore, the second teaser reveals the type of sensors the camera setup of the smartphones will be comprised of. The bubble on the top has a fully focussed image which hints of a standard lens. The image in the second bubble has a wide field of view which hints of an ultra wide sensor. The third bubble with a close up of a leaf corroborates of a macro lens. Finally, the fourth bubble shows two birds which hints the presence of a telephoto zoom lens.     Although the teaser doesn’t exactly mention the Xperia XZ4, Sony creates speculations regarding a smartphone with an unconventionally tall display. A “new perspective” might mean the tall 21:9 display of the upcoming device. A lot of leaks have already revealed a lot of specifications and features of the Xperia XZ4. Furthermore, Sony has already filed a trademark for the term ‘Cinemawide’ with the European Union Intellectual Property Office on February 4.
