Galaxy Note 10 Will Support Zoom Audio, Display & Battery Details Also Revealed

Samsung will soon announce the 10th generation of its Galaxy Note smartphones which will be carrying the “Note 10” branding. Reports in the past claimed that like the Galaxy S10 lineup, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 lineup will have four variants including the “e” variant, “+” variant, “5G” variant and a standard variant. However, a technology blog based out of Greek suggests that the device will only be offered in two variant.

Besides, the source has also revealed key details of the two Galaxy Note 10 variants which are as follows:Samsung Galaxy Note 10In term of display, the economical Samsung Galaxy Note 10 variant will have a 6.3 inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution while the second variant will have a 6.8 inch AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution. The former will weigh 168 grams while the latter will weigh 198 grams.

Notably, both the smartphones will skip on a 3.5 mm jack which reportedly allows adding 100 mAh of their respective batteries. Speaking of battery, the smaller Galaxy Note 10 will pack a 3500 mAh battery whereas the high-end variant will have 4,300 mAh battery.

Although both variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will support fast charging the affordable variant will support 25 W charging whereas the top-of-the-line handset will support 45 W fast charging. Noteworthy, Samsung will not supply a 45 W charger within the box and it will be sold separately as an accessory.Samsung Galaxy Note 10

The S-Pen that is a staple to Galaxy Note lineup of smartphones will also be present on the Note 10. However, the new stylus pen will boast of new features including support of touchless gestures. Also, while taking notes, the new S-Pen will produce an artificial sound which will replicate the sound of writing on paper with a highlight marker.

A distinguishing photography feature that the Galaxy Note 10 is bound to get is “zoom audio”. The feature is similar to what LG had showcased a couple of years ago. As the name suggests, the zoom audio feature increases the levels of volume captured as a user zooms into a video. To help better understand the following is an example. If a user is capturing video of a running tap and he zooms into the frame, the volume of the audio recording will also increase which mimics an immersive experience.

Finally, with the Galaxy Note 10, Samsung has reportedly done away with the dedicated Bixby button. Instead, the toggle switch to the Voice Assistant will be incorporated into the power button as observed with the Huawei P30 Pro. Samsung Galaxy Note 10

Currently, the latest One UI version is 1.1 which is running on most Android 9 Pie running Galaxy smartphones. It can be expected that Samsung will roll out new and interesting features with One UI 2.0 which will be exclusive to its range of handsets and tablets. The first iteration brought various minor and major new functionality, like Bixby Routines and a refreshed design. However, many of the previous generations of devices such as Galaxy S9 are yet to benefit from them. • Samsung Galaxy A80 With A Fancy Rotating Camera Launched In India

Samsung Galaxy A80 With A Fancy Rotating Camera Launched In India

In the month of April, Korean electronics giant, Samsung launched the apex predator in its Galaxy A lineup. Dubbed the Galaxy A80, it has now been launched in India as well. The key highlighting features of the smartphone include an immersive edge-to-edge display and a fancy flip camera system that caters the needs of capturing both photos and videos from the front and back.

    Galaxy A80 Specs and Features

The front of the Galaxy A80 features a massive 6.7 inch Super AMOLED display that is devoid of any notch. Samsung is calling this obstruction-free display as the “New Infinity”. The display panel has a  resolution of  2400 x 1080 px and an aspect ratio of 20:9. For rapidly and securely logging into the UI, the handset features an indisplay fingerprint sensor, which is also present on the Galaxy A70 and the Galaxy A50.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A80 features the Snapdragon 730G SoC which is manufactured using 8 nm fabrication process. The chipset consists of an Octa-core CPU along with Adreno 618 GPU. To provide the best both worlds i.e power and efficiency, the eight core CPU is divided into two seprate clusters which are as follows:

    • 2x 2.2 GHz
    • 6x 1.8GHz

For capturing photos and videos, the Galaxy A80 has a rotating triple camera system that consists of an f/2.0 aperture equipped 48MP sensor,  f/2.2 aperture equipped 8MP sensor and a 3D Time of Flight (ToF) along with an LED flash. As previously mentioned the same camera module can be used for photography from both the front and rear. As soon as the user taps the front camera button in the UI, the inbuilt motors come into play which with the help of a complex mechanism makes the camera setup rise and manifest itself for clicking selfies or making video calls.

The Galaxy A80 is powered by a 3700 mAh battery which supports 25W fast charging. The device runs on Samsung’s OneUI which is built on top of the latest Android 9 Pie. Connectivity options on the smartphone include Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, 4G VoLTE, GPS and USB Type C port for charging and data transfer.

The Samsung Galaxy A80 is offered in three colour options which include Angel Gold, Ghost White and Phantom Black. It is offered in a single storage variant for which the price is as follows:

    • 8 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM: Rs 47,990

Similar to various other flagship smartphones, the Galaxy A80 also lacks support for memory expansion. It will be available for pre-booking from July 22 to July 31 and will go on sale from 1st of August across all retail stores, e-Shop, Samsung Opera House and all major leading online channels.

To conclude, the Galaxy A80 seems like a fantastic handset which looks appealing and is packed with worthy features. However, we feel the price that it is being offered is a bit steep and will be the only factor that keeps customers away from it. Nevertheless, the unique camera system may be able to justify its price tag and is one features that makes it stand apart from the crowd.

  • Samsung Starts Production Of 12GB LPDDR5 RAM For Smartphones

Samsung Starts Production Of 12GB LPDDR5 RAM For Smartphones

Earlier this year, Samsung had launched its highest capacity DRAM (Dynamix Random Access Memory) modules for smartphones. It was a 12GB LPDDR4X model which was aimed for top end handsets. However, jump a few months forward and Samsung has already started producing its faster and newer version. The South Korean company is starting the mass production of the worlds first 12GB LPDDR5 DRAM module aimed for smartphones.

    Samsung LPDDR5

Samsung had introduced the LPDDR5 chip back in 2018 to enable 5G capable devices with efficient and effective RAM. It was aimed to better support AI softwares and machine learning capabilities for smartphones. Similar to the previous version RAM module, the newer iteration is also built on Samsung’s second generation 10nm chipset. The upcoming RAM offering from the company is claimed to boast an overall improvement of 30% in speeds in data transfer and operating through the User Interface (UI)

    Samsung LPDDR5

The 12GB package with 12GB chips is capable of data transfers of up to 44GB/s or around 12 FullHD movies in a single second. Furthermore, the LPDDR5 DRAM is also claimed to consumes 30% less power in comparison to the LPDDR4X. Samsung is planning to “fully leverage the 5G and AI capabilities like ultra high definition video recording and machine learning, while greatly extending the battery life.”

The move arrives after Samsung has seen a noticeable drop in prices and sales in the past quarter. Hence, it is to be expected that the company is banking on newer technology to get ahead of its competitors. Notably, compatibility with the new RAM module with existing chipsets is questionable. What can be gathered is that OEMs will probably ship the new RAM with their premium flagships smartphones starting next year.

  • Galaxy Tab S6 With Magnetic S Pen Leaks

Galaxy Tab S6 With Magnetic S Pen Leaks

Korean electronics giant, Samsung seems to be on a tablet launching frenzy as of late. Not long ago, it unveiled three new devices which include the Galaxy Tab S5e, Galaxy Tab A 10.1 and Galaxy Tab A 8; according to a fresh leak, the company will soon launch the Galaxy Tab S6 which will pack high end specifications. Noteworthy, the future tablet will be shipped with an S Pen which can magnetically stick to the back of the former.

The front of the tablet accommodates a large screen display which is surrounded with thin bezels on all four sides. The rear aluminum panel of the device has a matte finish and it house the company branding, AKG logo and dual rear cameras. To provide better LTE reception, it also has dual antenna strips on the rear.

For readers who are unaware, AKG is an Austrian company which is recognised for manufacturing quality audio systems and accessories. It was incorporated in the year 1947 as an independent company but has now been taken over by Samsung. Therefore products branded with AKG logo are bound to have worthwhile audio performance and similar will be the case with the upcoming Galaxy Tab S6.

Talking about ports and buttons, the right side of the tablet is occupied by the power button, volume rockers and SIM card slot while the left side houses pogo pins which can be used to connect accessories like a detachable keyboard with kick back stand. The bottom of the Galaxy Tab S6 harbors the USB Type C port which is flanked by dual speakers on either side whereas top top side is assumed to be devoid of any seams.

Besides, the S Pen that accompanies the Galaxy Tab S6 has also been redesigned into a cylindrical chalk like peripheral. The upgraded accessory has a dedicated button which is likely to support multiple control options with different tap configurations. Even though the current leak does not reveal any specifications of the tablet, they can be derived from prior leaks which are as follows:

    Galaxy Tab S6 Rumoured Specs
    • Chipset: Snapdragon 855

  • These Samsung Galaxy S11 Renders Based On Patents Are Breathtaking

These Samsung Galaxy S11 Renders Based On Patents Are Breathtaking

In the month of February, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S10 lineup of smartphones which are significantly different that their  predecessors (1). As it seemed Samsung can relax for while as the launch of the future flagship is still distant, a freshly granted patent which allegedly corresponds to the Galaxy S11 has surprised us.

Samsung Galaxy S11 Extendable Display The patent which supposedly belongs to the Samsung Galaxy S11 has been granted to the company by KIPO (Korean Intellectual Property Office). According to the drawings in the document, the upcoming Galaxy S smartphone will have an expandable display which extends from the right side of the device. Based on the reference images, a German blog named Letsgodigital has created life like 3D renders of the handset which look absolutely astounding.

Accordingly, the upcoming Galaxy S11 might be Samsung’s second attempt, after Galaxy Fold to accomodate a large screen display on a compact smartphone. Similar to current gen Samsung Galaxy S handsets, the device in the patent also has a punch hole which seems to house an earpiece grill and dual front cameras.Samsung Galaxy S11 Render

Unforntunately, the patent lacks any information about the functioning of the display. However, it is possible that Samsung might use a rollable display on this device which will tuck itself into a reel like shape when in the closed position. This mechanism could be similar to what is expected with the predicted Sony smartphone.Samsung Galaxy S11 Extendable Display Render

Having such a display on a smartphone can open up whole new world of possibilities. As a device like this can serve a dual purpose of both a smartphone and a tablet. Nevertheless, conceptualising such a visionary smartphone is easy but turning into a real life device is quite challenging.

Even though the probability of such a display being equipped on the Galaxy S11 are considerably low. However, with the kind of money Samsung expends on R&D, we believe it is only a matter of time that such technology is available at the consumber level.

  • Beyond Smartwatches, Samsung Is Developing AR Smart glasses

Beyond Smartwatches, Samsung Is Developing AR Smart glasses

Over half a decade ago, Google unveiled the “Project Glass” branded smart glasses which were one of the first devices in the AR (augemented reality) segment. Six years later, world’s number one smartphone manufacturer, Samsung has also gained patent for an AR smartglass which has a visionary approach.

According to the patent, the design of the Samsung AR glass is similar to a conventional sunglass. But the left and right temples that extend over the ear to help hold device in place are quite chunky. Moreover, the whole smart glass device can fold into half which will allow for easy storage.

Clearly, all the essential components like the battery and procesor will be housed in the thick temple. In stead of having a conventionaly screen for displaying information, the Samsung AR features a projcetor which with the help of a prism, projects the infromation on the right side glass. Therefore, the data displayed on the device will remain right infront of the user’s vision, whilst still allowing them to see through and look at objects behind without any obstruction.

The display can be toggled with the help of a small square shaped switch which is placed on top of the right ear temple. In addition, the patent suggests that the Samsung AR glasses have a whole host of sensors which are include proximity sensor, an infrared sensor, biometric sensor, temperature sensor, humidity sensor, gyro sensor, an atmospheric pressure sensor, magnetic sensor, an acceleration sensor, and even a grip sensor.

The Samsung AR glasses also have a built in camera which would be used of capturing images and videos. Moreover, the same camera sensor will allow the device to provide augmented reality capabilities like quickly scanning a product and showing a listing for it on Amazon.

Conclusively, the Samsung AR smartglass looks like a bold move into the future. Sadly, any concrete information about the launch of the device is currently unavailable, therefore, we will have to wait until Samsung itself provides information about the device.

The teaser boasts that the Galaxy Note 10 will have the functionality to be used as multiple computing devices. In simpler words, the smartphone could be used as a personal computer, a camera and a conventional handset. This will allow users to eliminate the need for carrying multiple devices simultaneously. Besides, the data will also remain synchronised further enhancing the ease of use.Galaxy Note 10 DeX

To attain the functionality of a computer, the device will make use of the DeX feature which has been present on Samsung devices for a couple of years. DeX is short for “Desktop eXperience” and as the name suggests it allows supported Samsung tablets and smartphones to provide a desktop-like experience by connecting a keyboard, mouse and monitor.Galaxy Note 10 Samsung Dex

With the Galaxy Note 10, the company is expected to enrich DeX feature with many more updates which can further diminish the gap between an emulated desktop in comparison to traditional PC. Noteworthy, flagship Samsung devices are offered with storage capacity even upto 1 TB. Therefore, storage won’t be an issue and users can even store large files in their pocketable device.

Although the theory seems farfetched, Samsung could launch a hybrid laptop dock like the Motorola Atrix lapdock which will allow the Galaxy Note 10 to work as an actual laptop. Talking about other features the devices will pack AMOLED display with a centre mounted punch hole, Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 SoC dependent on the region and three or more rear cameras on all variants.
