HongMeng OS Is Upto 60 Percent Faster Than Android OS And MacOS

It was revealed a while back that Huawei’s proprietary HongMeng OS has been planned in secrecy years ago. The top officials of the Chinese company had decided on the development of a native OS after fearing US based software dominance. Skip a few years forward and that is all but true. Android and Apple are the most popular OS out there that belong from the US with which China has always had unstable trade relations.

Now, a report claims that the recently announced HongMeng OS is reportedly 60% faster than its main competitor Android.

    HongMeng OS

HongMeng OS turned out to be Huawei’s trump card against US monopoly. It was finally unveiled from secrecy and had sought to ensure Huawei’s long term market security regardless of international trade relations. In a new report from, Chairman of Huawei had claimed that its HongMeng OS outperforms Android by a massive 60% lead. The aforementioned OS will complete development; regardless of Huawei being able to continue business with US companies. This arrives after the US ban that prohibited the company to have unrestricted operations in the western nation.

    Huawei

In terms of speed, Huawei has claimed that the OS is much faster than Google’s as well as Apple’s MacOS. HongMeng OS will also be introduced to the company’s laptop computer offerings too and are reportedly faster than MacOS. Huawei’s OS is designed to be versatile with a broad range of compatibility across different electronic devices which will interact with one another. A move that is similar to Apple’s iCloud based electronic economy and family connectivity. The company’s top officials have acknowledged its two giant competitors which have a sizeable application ecosystem; true with Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store apps which contain millions of apps.

The implications of the new report are massive. An OS that is both flexible and more powerful than what is currently offered in the market; it can possibly even disrupt the westward focused technology power structure. The claims can currently not be disproved since the HongMeng OS hasn’t been released yet. However, even exaggerated it may still hold some truth regarding performance and speed.

The FCC Certification carried a number of details regarding the upcoming Mi A3’s design and dimensions. • Samsung Is Developing A Smartphone With Expandable Display

Samsung Is Developing A Smartphone With Expandable Display

Samsung has been working on developing unique smartphones with flexible displays for years now. The company’s first commercially available foldable device arrived as the Galaxy Fold. However, the device had failed even before it had launched due to fundamental functional flaws within its design. Reports have since surfaced state that the tech giant is already planning on other foldable devices and now even an expandable display smartphone.

    Samsung

The South Korean company has already patented the expandable display designs for a laptop. Furthermore, The latest patent showcases a unique new design for the upcoming rollable display smartphone. Schematics of the device show a retractable flexible display on a smartphone. The screen on this device is capable of being pulled out via a rolling mechanism, which may be automatic. Once fully extended the device will see a three times growth in screen size.

The mechanism is enabled through a combination of moving rails with Samsung’s flexible screen. Basically, one can carry the device in a compact form factor until they eventually require it. The phone will look like any other modern handset once in its smaller state although with rounded corners. The rollable smartphone has noticeable bezels on the top and bottom that house the necessary sensors like camera, earpiece and fingerprint scanner. These wide borders will also house the motor that runs the rolling mechanism.

The frame of the rolling mechanism flank the left and right side and also provide a grip for when users unroll the phone. When seen from the back, supporting rails are revealed when the Samsung device is completely extended. The rails should provide support for the moving mechanism while fitting into slots perfectly, making it appear seamless. It is sceptical just how practical the system will be in real-world practice; as dust and wear and tear may negatively affect the system. Damage or bends on any of the rail will also cause it to be imperfect and not fall back into place correctly once retracted.

    Samsung

The smartphones design form factor will allow for a great content viewing experience for the user. If the device is unveiled one of the notable things offered would be a better multi-media consumption via Samsung’s vibrant AMOLED panels. The company has yet to make any statement on any one of its many patents that have shown such unique designs or functionality.

Samsung Fixes Galaxy Fold And Is Ready For Launch

Foldable smartphones were all the buzz early this year with Samsung being at the centre alongside its highly anticipated Galaxy Fold. However, the smartphone that was expected to launch in April to the global audience had been inevitably delayed. Ever since then Samsung has publicly announced that it has fixed issues that were plaguing its foldable devices screen. The month of May had seen the company claim the device is ready, which was followed by a report that detailed how no progress was made. The way Oppo got rid of the notch, was by introducing a motorized part which eloquently hides the front and rear cameras. The Oppo Find X features a 6.42 inch 2340 x 1080 pixel display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. This translates to about 87% screen-to-body ratio.

The Oppo Find X runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset along with the Adreno 630 GPU. The primary camera on the Find X is in the pop-up mechanism, consisting of a dual camera setup with a 16MP 1/2.6″ sensor and a 20MP 1/2.8″ sensor both with an f/2.0 aperture. The primary camera setup will have Optical Image Stabilization. The front facing selfie camera is also housed in the pop-up mechanism and is a 20MP  sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.

The Vivo NEX with a similar pop up camera design is expected to launch on 19th July in India starting at a considerably lower price Rs. 47,999. The Vivo NEX is yet another smartphone with an almost entire screen at the front of the device. Here, it uses the same concept of a motorized part for the camera only to achieve a notch-free and a nearly bezel-less display much like the Oppo Find X above. However, Vivo decided to only house the front-facing camera which comes out of the top of the phone and slides back in when not in use.

    Vivo Nex With Camera Deployed

The Vivo NEX features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset which is paired with the Adreno 630 GPU. The smartphone sports a Super AMOLED 6.59 inch 2316 x 1080 pixel  display with an aspect ratio of 18:9.

  • Blackberry To Launch Waterproof Phone Without A Physical Keyboard

Blackberry To Launch Waterproof Phone Without A Physical Keyboard

Blackberry launched its KEYone in February 2017 with its signature Qwerty keypad, which was rather well received in the market, as compared to company’s other devices. But it seems like Blackberry might be redesiging its upcoming smartphone in hopes of broadening its appeal to more than just keyboard devotees.

TCL, the current manufacturer for the BlackBerry brand, is reported to launch a full touchscreen device under the BlackBerry name at some time in October. While the details of the yet to be announced smartphone are scarce, it has been speculated that as the smartphone will be sans physical keyboard, the devices’ touchscreen will be similar to the the TCL’s previously launched smartphones, DTek50 & DTek60.

Upholding Blackberry’s reputation of building sturdy devices, TCL’s François Mahieu hinted that the main feature, apart from the full-touchscreen, will allegedly be IP67 water and dust-proofing. The smartphone’s battery is expected to last for more than 26 hours of usage.

Mahieu believes that durability and longevity will be the major USPs of the device. The company hopes to build a long-lasting phone which will allegedly outlive the Apple iPhone. The smartphone will probably run the latest Android and in terms of making the device stand out from the crowd, Mahieu seems quite confident that BlackBerry’s history of creating secure devices will enable TCL to deliver the “most secure Android phone in the world.” He further claims that a number of iPhone and Galaxy users will “make the switch” to BlackBerry this October.

After a rather bold statement, Mahieu explained, “We are there to play,” and “we’re just playing with different cards,” which includes strengths of battery life, security and durability.

According to statements made by Mahieu, the Chief Commercial Officer, TCL seems to be banking on water and dust-resistance to catch consumers attention. As for the pricing, the fully touch screen smartphone is expected to cost less than Blackberry’s flagships.

The smartphone is expected to see the light of the day in October, but it might be a while before the phone is available in Indian market, just like the Blackberry KEYone which was available in India in August, despite its initial February release.
